I meditate daily, and have overcome a lot of obstacles thrown my way, such as being out of work for over a year, being depressed, confused about where I want to go in life, and what I want to do. I began meditating before my freshman year of college and continued to do so for about 6 months until I became swamped with homework. From there, I stopped doing anything I was interested in and solely focused on my studies. I even quit my job. During my fall semester of sophomore year, I was down in the dumps,with clouds of doubt constantly in my head.
