Ashley Brent's Experience at Iowa State

Ashley Brent chose to attend Iowa State due to the combination of majors that she wanted to take and as well as the courses that were going to be offered to her. 

Brent attended a high school in the capital city of Missouri where she enjoyed her school experience because of her love for academics and the extracurricular activity of band. She expressed how the band helped balance the stress that came with the school. 

Brent is currently a junior majoring in environmental science and community regional planning.

Destiny Payne's Experience at Iowa State

When Destiny Payne was deciding what school, she wanted to attend after her undergraduate program, she wanted to pick an institution that would give her a different experience than her last institution. She wanted to go to a bigger institution that also had a well-established student affairs program.

So, when she found out that she could enroll in a student affairs program that had a social justice focus, she was immediately attracted to Iowa State.

Since coming to Iowa State University, I have noticed that it is a pretty quiet in Ames (besides late Friday and Saturday night). On weekdays, when I am heading to class, it’s not uncommon for me to see an ISUPD vehicle cruising behind a Cyride bus through campus. In fact, it’s never uncommon for me to see an ISUPD vehicle, as they are always on patrol, 24/7.

Say a big hello to Tricia Stouder! Tricia Stouder had been with Iowa State University since 2010 but has been with Admissions since 2015. Her current position is as the Coordinator for Admissions Early Outreach. She works with a variety of programs such as Early Outreach Program (EOP). EOP is a week-long residential summer program for Iowa resident multicultural students and potential first-generation college students entering the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades. Read down below to learn about Tricia Stouder!

Having worked in Harlem, New York as a Program Director, she brings a wealth of social work experience and leadership in two key areas: Latinx issues and integrated health care.
